Play Therapy

Child In Mind has a team of clinicians specially trained in using Play Therapy techniques as a treatment modality to support children and teens as they explore their mental health, social relationships and emotional concerns.

Research suggests that creativity can be a meaningful channel through which a child can express themselves and make sense of their experience. Our experienced play therapists skillfully guide the client between directive and non-directive activities, games, and exercises that are designed to help the child uncover challenges and develop solutions. Although play therapy can be helpful for all clients, these tools are particularly helpful for children and youth that have a difficult time expressing themselves with words. Common modalities include sandtray, art, emotionally focussed rule-games and music.
