Al Prado

Registered Psychotherapist

Al Prado, BA, MA, holds an honours B.A. degree in Psychology from the Pontifical Xavierian University, and a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Al is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.

Al brings his extensive experience working with families and children spanning over twenty years to create a caring, compassionate space, and thrives in providing a safe, open and non-judgemental environment where individuals can feel supported in their journey. Al has been working with children, youth, and families in Ottawa’s community and clinical settings for over eight years.

  • Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS)

His counselling approach is integrative, person-centered, and collaborative; he draws from various theories and works cooperatively with the clients to create a therapeutic approach and address their needs.  Integrating Neuroscience, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Family Systems, and Art Therapy to guide tailored services. Areas of expertise include ADHD, ASD, anxiety, depression, parent-child relationships, family functioning, behavioural difficulties and school difficulties.
